Finance minister Mahat pledges investment friendly budget

Finance Minister Dr Ram Sharan Mahat has pledged to develop Nepal as an investment hub.

Taking part in a pre-budget discussion programme organised by the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) and hosted by Butwal Chamber of Commerce and Industry in view of the budget for upcoming fiscal year, the Finance Minister said internal community are interested in investing in Nepal and the government is ready to create investment-friendly atmosphere for them.

Expressing his commitments to promoting the private sector, he urged the private sector to cooperate with the government as well for its smooth functioning.  He vowed to complete the Lumbini Master Plan introduced for the development of Lumbini soon by collecting funds from the national and international community.

Finance Secretary Yubraj Bhusal said the government has expedited the financial reforms programmes.
    
FNCCI President Pradeep Jung Pandey expressed his hope for the announcement of result-oriented budget and urged the Finance Minister to give a space for industrial sector in the new budget, to ensure security of investment and creation of employment opportunity.
