The government's policy and program is to focus on energy, agriculture, tourism, infrastructure and industrial development in the upcoming national budget like to be presented on July 10 or 11.

Speaking at a face-to-face program organized in Kathmandu on Friday, Deputy Prime Minister Bamdev Gautam, who also holds the portfolio of Prime Minister, said, the budget will be prepared as per the policy and program of the government.
        
He said the budget would likely be presented on July 10 or 11.

Stating that Prime Minister Sushil Koirala would return home soon after undergoing preliminary phase of radiotherapy to neutralize the lesion detected in his lung, the Deputy Prime Minister said that the country's political and daily administration were moving normally ahead.

"I will ensure that the government and state mechanism continue to function smoothly and hand it over to the Prime Minister with improvements in them," he said.

In response to a query, Deputy Prime Minister Gautam said the nomination of the 26 CA members to the Constituent Assembly was delayed as parties have failed to send their respective list for the same.

He, however, expressed the confidence that the Council of Ministers meeting on coming Sunday may finalize the names, provided that all the parties submit their list.

Deputy Prime Minister Gautam, who also holds the Home Ministry portfolio, said the promotion of senior officers of the Nepal Police would be held soon.

On a different note, Mr Gautam, who is also the Vice-president of the ruling CPN-UML party, said, he would support KP Oli in the upcoming ninth general convention of the party.
