Bird collides with NAC’s China-made aircraft; operation comes to standstill

The MA 60 aircraft of Nepal Airlines Corporation brought from China has halted its operation after a bird crashed into it at the Biratnagar airport on Monday morning.

The plane has suffered some damage to its right propeller as it came across a bird in course of landing at the airport at 8:20 a.m. this morning, said NAC’s spokesperson Saroj Kasaju.

"We have informed the aircraft manufacturing company and it will take at least a week to repair the propeller," Kasaju said.

Chinese technicians as well as required equipments will have to be brought from China, where the aircraft was manufactured.The aircraft, received as a gift from the government of China, had begun commercial flight on June 25.
