Only 14 percent paddy plantation has been completed in different districts of Western Region even when it is first week of July (mid-Asar).

Generally, paddy plantation is over by this time of the monsoon. But this year, the paddy plantation has been delayed due to the late monsoon.

Paddy plantation is nearly 6.33 percent over in the Terai districts of the region and 16.28 percent over in the hilly districts, according to the Regional Agriculture Directorate, Pokhara.

Rice plantation has been done in irrigated land but it is still to catch up in the non-irrigated land due to the lack of adequate rainfall. Paddy can be cultivated on 31,600 hectares of land in the region.
