International Director of the Confederation of British Industry (CBI), Simon Moore, is visiting Kathmandu on 2nd-3rd August, 2014. CBI is an influential business lobby organisation globally.
Across the UK, the CBI speaks on behalf of 190,000 businesses of all sizes and sectors which together employ nearly 7 million people, about one third of the private sector-employed workforce.
With offices in the UK as well as representation in Brussels, Washington, Beijing and Delhi, the CBI communicates the British business voice around the world. CBI’s main focus has been on key international issues such as tax, trade and energy.
The main purpose of Moore’s visit is to establish relations and to investigate the potential opportunities in Nepal, the CBI said.
During his visit, he will be meeting officials from the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), Nepal Investment Board , British Ambassador to Nepal and other senior Nepali officials.
“This is Mr. Moore’s maiden trip to Nepal and he is also planning to view Majestic Himalayas of which he is very fond of,” said Prashant Kunwar, the FNCCI’s marketing representative in the UK.
