Telecommunications service provider Ncell Friday donated Rs 200 million to the Prime Minister's Disaster Relief Fund to assist people affected by the various natural disasters that are hitting different parts of the country.
Ncell CEO Erim Taylanlar handed over a cheque for the amount to Prime Minister Sushil Koirala at the PM's Official Residence in Baluwatar on Friday, Ncell said in a statement.
The financial support is part of Ncell fulfilling its corporate social responsibility, Ncell said.
According to the statement, Taylanlar expressed concern over the number of lives lost and those affected by disasters across the country.
He also said Ncell was gratified at being able to contribute at a time of need.
Koirala expressed his gratitude towards Ncell for providing financial assistance for the relief of victims of natural disasters, according to the statement.
Minister for Information and Communications Dr Minendra Rijal was also present at the event.
