A large number of tourists have remained stranded in Tenzing Hillary Airport in Lukla, Solukhumbu, with flights cancelled for five days due to bad weather.
Airlines operating flights to Lukla said visibility was poor in the area because of thick fog and heavy rainfall.
More than 150 foreigners have been waiting for planes to leave the district for the capital city.
A majority of tourists complained that they had already booked tickets for the international flights.
Likewise, the supply of food and other daily commodities has been affected due to the flight cancellations, said entrepreneur Sonam Sherpa.
Tara Airlines, Sita Airlines, Nepal Airlines and Simrik Airlines operate flights to and from Lukla.
