70 percent voting in average: CEC Uprety

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Nil Kantha Uprety said on Tuesday that the total vote cast in the November 19 elections of the Constituent Assembly was as much as 70 percent in average.

Addressing a press meet in the evening after the election concluded at 5 p.m., Uprety said it was the highest turn out of people in an election of Nepal.

"It became possible because of the introduction of new technologies like voter ID card and their digital records along with other reforms," said Uprety.

"I would like to thank you all for making this national event successful," he added.
