The living goddesses of Kathmandu, the Kumaris, received a special treat this Saturday. Hyumat Misa Puchaa, a Newari traditional group, organised a collective ceremony, commemorating the eight Kumaris of Kathmandu in their respective seats. The Kumaris appeared in their full attire for the ceremony.
A special puja was arranged for each goddess, the first ceremony of its kind. The goddesses were presented with traditional auspicious offering, sagun.
The ceremony was coloured with fanfare and music. Hundreds of devotees arrived at the venue to offer their prayers to the Kumaris.
