Nepali Congress (NC) General Secretary Prakash Man Singh has said that in order to ensure that the next constitution is democratic, there must be a majority of NC leaders in the next Constituent Assembly (CA).
“There needs to a majority of NC representation in the new CA so that the constitution reflects democratic norms and is formulated on time, ”General Secretary Singh said, addressing a programme in Kathmadu in Santinagar, on Sunday morning.
Singh added that the formation of the new constitution and national economical, political stability is only possible if there is NC majority in the CA. He also urged to people to use their voting right without fear.
NC had finally completed its candidate list for the election after negotiations between the leaders from two rival factions within the party last week. In the last constituent assembly, NC leaders occupied a little less than 20 percent of the seats.
