The two-day written exam of Korean Employment Permit System (EPS) has begun in Kathmandu Sunday.
Seventeen exam centers have been declared in Kathmadnu and Lalitpur districts. Examinees received one hour orientation before the exams began. The first shift started at 10 a.m., while the second shift started at 2:30 p.m.
(South) Korea has declared that it would select some 8,000 Nepali workers to work in manufacturing and agriculture sector. Of them, 4,600 will work in manufacturing sector, while 3,400 will work in agriculture sector. Some 47,928 individuals are expected to appear in the two-day EPS test.
Meanwhile, the Korean government has declared that Nepali migrant workers have been granted third priority after Indonesia and Philippines in manufacturing sector. According to data from January to September 2013, there were 5,096 Indonesians, 4,966 Filipinos and 2,955 Nepalis in the industrial manufacturing sector.
