With the November 19 CA election approaching fast, UCPN (Maoist) has said it is all set to publicize the party’s election manifesto on October 18.
A meeting of the party’s powerful central committee took a decision to this effect on the day CPN-UML Standing Committee meeting also approved the proposal of CA election manifesto along with suggestions.
According to Maoist party sources, the CA election manifesto of the former rebel party will propose a directly elected President as the executive head and a prime minister elected by the parliament.
Emerging from the meeting, UCPN (M) senior leader Narayan Kazi Shrestha said the party is yet to decide on the number of provinces to be created in the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal.
The meeting has also approved the party’s revised closed list of candidates for the CA election under the Proportional Representation (PR) system.
The deadline to present a revised closed name list of candidates for the Constituent Assembly (CA) election under the PR system is expiring on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Nepali Congress has also informed that the party would make public its election manifesto right after Dashain festival.
The party has said that its election manifesto drafting committee has already prepared the CA manifesto and would make it public within few days. Nepalnews.com
