Three couples have registered their inter-caste marriages at the District Administration Office (DAO), Makawanpur, in the third week of February by claiming allowances.
Yek Narayan Aryal, Chief District Officer, distributed the certificate of marriage registration to the couples amidst a function on Wednesday.
The newly-wedded couples are of Sanjeev Joshi, 27, of Bhaise VDC-1 and Anju Pariyar, 23, of Namatar VDC-2; Niraj Lama, 27, and Kasmi Kumari Pariyar, 24, of Pashupatinagar in Hetauda Municipality Ward-9.
Similarly, Chhatra Kumari Phuyal, 24, of Porai VDC-2 of Rautahat district and Ram Kumar Bishwakarma, 27, of Hetauda Municipality Ward No. 4 registered their names claiming allowances announced by the government to encourage the inter-caste marriage, according to the District Administration Office, Makawanpur.
Of the 35 couples of the inter-caste marriages, 27 have already received the allowance Rs 100,000 each couple in the fiscal year 2012/2013, said Accounts Officer at the DAO, Dipak Prasad Panta. It is said that rest of the couples have not received the allowances yet.
