Nepali Congress (NC) General Secretary Prakash Man Singh said that new government formation process was delayed by some days due to NC's efforts to bring all the parties on board the new government.
At a programme organised by the Independent Employee Union of Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) to facilitate the NC's newly-elected lawmakers from Kathmandu valley and Kavre district today, Singh hoped that new government would be formed soon through the Constituent Assembly (CA).
"Selection of lawmakers under the proportional electoral system has been delayed by some days. NC is taking due initiative as it has a compulsion to take all parties together. New government would be formed soon through the CA," Singh said.
Likewise, newly elected lawmaker Narahari Acharya said that NC has a responsibility to promulgate the constitution within a year despite heaps of challenges.
During the programme, lawmakers Dhyangovinda Ranjit, Rajan KC, Rameshwor Prasad Dhungel, Kanchan Chandra Bade and others pledged to draft the new constitution within a year.
Also speaking at the programme, spokesperson of NOC Mukunda Prasad Dhungel complained of politicisation in the import and trade of petroleum project and hoped the new government would correct such trend. RSS
