President Ram Baran Yadav has urged political parties to enact a constitution that represents the spirit of the people. Such a constitution has to be promulgated in time, he said.
Inaugurating an industrial and trade fair in Butwal Wednesday, Yadav said people's pressure is necessary to issue a constitution that ensures democratic republicanism and federalism.
"Our country had to suffer a lot in the past due to conflict. The only alternative now is peace and non-violence," Yadav said.
Commenting on the fair, the President said such events are useful in promoting local products in the market and taking ahead the country's development.
Representatives of private sector, including President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), Suraj Vaidya, opined that the fair would be instrumental in promoting trade and industry. A total of 550 stalls are participating in the fair.
