A Council of Ministers’ meeting on Sunday has recommended to the President to convene the meeting of Legislative Parliament on January 26 this month.
In the meeting held inside the Office of the Prime Minister in Singha Durbar, it was decided that the meeting would be called four days after the first Constituent Assembly meeting on January 22.
Following the meeting, Interim Election Council (IEC) Chairperson Khil Raj Regmi called on President Ram Baran Yadav at the latter’s office in Shital Niwas and apprised the President about the recommendation.
Earlier in the morning, President Yadav had drawn the attention of top leaders of three largest parties about convening the meeting of the Legislative-Parliament.
As per the constitutional provision, Nepal’s Constituent Assembly also works as the Legislative Parliament.
