President Ram Baran Yadav has summoned the first session of the Legislative-Parliament on January 26 this month.
According to a statement issued by the President’s office on Sunday, the session will be held at 3 p.m. at Birendra International Convenion Centre, New Baneshwor in Kathmandu.
The meeting was called as per Article 51(1) of the Constitution following the recommendation of Interim Election Council (IEC) Chairperson, Khil Raj Regmi.
Earlier today, a Council of Ministers’ meeting had recommended to the President to convene the meeting of Legislative Parliament on January 26 this month.
As per the constitutional provision, Nepal’s newly elected Constituent Assembly also works as the Legislative Parliament.
