UCPN (Maoist) Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that the seven-point agreement signed by two largest parties – Nepali Congress and CPN-UML, before the formation of the new government, is ‘unconstitutional’.
Talking with journalists after the election of new Prime Minister Sushil Koirala on Monday, Dahal said his party would, however, extend cooperation to the new government and constitution making process.
“We will support the government for its good work and criticize it for its bad work,” Dahal said. “Though it was late, it’s good that the country has a new prime minister now and a new government is going to be formed,” he added.
On the matter of constitution writing, Dahal said his party would move ahead together with NC and UML to ensure that a new constitution is enacted in the next one year.
“Constitution writing is our top priority now. We have already expressed our commitment for a new constitution in one year,” he said.
