Indian Ambassador to Nepal Ranjeet Rae called on Prime Minister Sushil Koirala at the PMO in Singha Durbar on Friday and extended his congratulations on his election to the top government post.
During the meeting, PM Koirala praised the long-standing friendly ties between Nepal and India and stressed on the need to enhance the cordial relation that exists between the two countries through increased cooperation in priority areas and other issues of bilateral interests.
On the occasion, Koirala also expressed his firm belief that if the Indian government extends its assistance in rural health, railway extension, private sector investment, hydro power and agriculture sector then that would go a long way bring about economic and infrastructural development of Nepal.
In response, Ambassador Ray stressed on the need to increase cooperation between the two countries in the area of security, infrastructural development, trade, economy and other pressing diplomatic issues.
He expressed confidence that the historical and friendly ties that exists between Nepal and India will further consolidate in the coming days.
