The meeting of the Legislature-Parliament today approved the Finance Ordinance 2069 and the Ordinance to Mobilize Internal Loans, 2070 with a majority.

On behalf Prime Minister Sushil Koirala, Minister Without Portfolio Dr Ram Sharan Mahat presented the ordinances in the meeting seeking the House approve them.

Before this, the House rejected by a majority the proposal seeking the rejection of the ordinances which was tabled by MP Biswendra Paswan.

In the meeting, Minister Mahat, on behalf Prime Minister Koirala, presented before the House a proposal regarding appointments to the constitutional bodies as per the Clause 22 of the Order Removing the Constitutional Obstacles.

The Order to this effect was issued by the President on March 14, 2013 at the recommendation of the then government.

The nest meeting of the Legislature-Parliament is slated for 11 a.m. on February 24.

Meanwhile, Constituent Assembly (CA) Chairperson Subas Nembang has said he would make efforts to convene the House sessions on time.

Talking to journalists at his office on Friday, he further said his attention was drawn to the delay in convening of the meetings in the past and pledged for keeping to the time from now on.

Today's meeting of the Legislature-Parliament was delayed by 20 minutes due to belated presence of the government in the House.

Prime Minister Sushil Koirala and Minister Dr Ram Sharan Mahat arrived slightly late in Parliament after giving prior information due to the ongoing meeting of the Nepali Congress Parliamentary Board.

Meanwhile, Chairperson Nembang on Friday directed the CA secretariat to make necessary arrangements for journalists for ease in news reporting and dissemination.
