UCPN (Maoist) chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal has expressed his skepticism that a constitution can be enacted in the next one year, as claimed by the ruling Nepali Congress and CPN-UML.
“Four months have already passed in the process for forming a government. In such a situation, I don’t think that the NC and UML would be able to issue constitution in one year,” Dahal said during a two-day meeting of the party’s district coordinators in Kathmandu Saturday.
Speaking at the same program organized in the party headquarters at Paris Danda, UCPN (M) senior leaders Baburam Bhattarai said Narayan Kaji Shrestha said there is no reason to be distressed with the election results.
“If we keep on working clearly and in favour of the people, we may win in the next election,” they said.
Meanwhile, in a different tone and program, CPN-Maoist secretary Deb Gurung has reiterated that there is no possibility of party unity with the UCPN (Maoist).
“The UCPN (M) has already left the path of pro-people revolution through its Hetauda Convention. In this context, we don’t see any potential for immediate party unity,” Gurung said while speaking at a program in Syangja Saturday.
