The Kathmandu Metropolitan Police has detained a student leader of CPN-Maoist chaired by Mohan Baidya for resorting to bullying and vandalism in a college in the capital on Thursday.
According to police, Jagdish Shahi, a Kathmandu district member of All Nepal National Independent Student Union-Revolutionary (ANNISU-R) affiliated with CPN-M has been arrested from Tahachal Campus today.
Shahi entered the campus with a group of around half a dozen followers and attempted to tear tender documents with an intention of intervening in the process.
Shahi also used abusive words for students and administrative staff present in the scene. Shahi, a permanent resident of Chamunda-5, Surkhet, was living in Kathmandu since long, it is learnt.
Shahi will be prosecuted as per the Public Offence Act for his misdeed, added the police.
