UCPN (Maoist) chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that those vying for top posts can leave the party, as his party would be better off without those leaders.
“It is better to have a small party without factionalism than to have a big party with lots of factionalism,” Dahal said while speaking at UCPN (M) Kathmandu district’s convention in the capital Saturday.
Conceding that his party is on the verge of split, Dahal said it could be averted only through massive transformation. He, however, did not explain as to who were behind such split.
“To attain transformation, we need to implement the policies set ahead by Hetauda convention,” Dahal said.
Addressing the same function, UCPN (M) senior leader Baburam Bhattarai said the party requires changing its working style so as to attain what party chair Dahal termed as the "transformation".
“In our party’s next general convention, we will discuss this issue in detail and also raise the issue of forming a new revolutionary force,” Bhattarai said, without explaining as to whether such revolutionary force will exist inside or outside the party.
