UCPN (Maoist) chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has refuted news reports that he has intense differences with his party colleague Baburam Bhattarai.
Speaking at a press meet in Janakpur on Tuesday, chairman Dahal said he did not have any personal grudges against Bhattarai.
“It was just an ideological debate between me and Bhattarai. It would further consolidate the party,” Dahal said.
In a different note, he said the latest political developments have indicated that a new constitution would be drafted in time.
Dahal said his party is in favour of a democratic constitution which, as he claimed, would include the provisions of identity and federalism.
Commenting on the results of Constituent Assembly (CA) by-elections in four constituencies, Chairman Dahal said the results were already expected, as they reflected the same level of performance of his party as in the November 19 CA elections.
Addressing the same program, UCPN (M) senior leader Bhattarai said he debated for economic and social revolution inside the party rather than any personal issues.
Bhattarai said he was not able to attend several programs of the party, as he was more engaged with the CA Committee meetings.
