The Standing Committee meeting of the CPN-UML has proposed a 13-member Presidium and Steering Committee to run the closed-session of the UML's Ninth National Convention which was scheduled to begin on Friday.
The meeting has proposed the Presidium comprised of UML Vice-chairperson Biddya Devi Bhandari, General Secretary Ishwar Pokhrel, and Secretary Yubaraj Gyawali, leaders Bharat Mohan Adhikari, Mukunda Neupane, Chhabilal Bishwakarma, Dharma Nath Shah, Kiran Gurung, Bhojraj Joshi, Bhim Rawal, Nagendra Chaudhary, Rajendra Pandey, and Ashta Laxmi Shakya.
Chairman Jhala Nath Khanal was scheduled to present the proposal to this effect in the closed session.
Similarly, the meeting has also formed a Steering Committee to run the closed session. UML Secretaries Bishnu Paudel, Shanker Pokhrel, leaders Pradip Gyawali, Raghubir Mahaseth, Bishnu Rimal, Agni Kharel, Binda Bandey, Keshavlal Shrestha, Surendra Pandey, Ghana Shyam Bhushal, Raghuji Panta, Dr. Bijay Paudel, and Beduram Bhusal are on the committee.
The meeting also formed a seven-member Minute Keeping Committee.
The Standing Committee has not made any decisions regarding the 111 representatives, who are to be nominated before the closed session, said Bishnu Rimal, Secretary of the National Congress Main Secretariat. The time schedule for the closed session could be delayed due to this reason.
