Prime Minister Sushil Koirala has returned home on Tuesday evening after a month-long medical treatment in the United States.
Prime Minister Koirala underwent a course of radiotherapy for his lung cancer at the New York-based Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
Talking to media persons upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu, the Prime Minister said he is completely fit and fine and tasks related to constitution-drafting and peace process would get a momentum now. He thanked all who wished for his speedy recovery and good health.
Doctors here suggested him to visit a well-equipped hospital, following detection of a small white spot in his lung during a medical check-up. He left for the US on June 16 where he was diagnosed with lung cancer.
Prime Minister Koirala was recommended radio therapy treatment as surgery was not possible due to his chronic bronchitis.
Speaker, two deputy prime ministers and ministers, heads of security bodies and other high ranking government officials welcomed Prime Minister Koirala at the airport.
