The UCPN (Maoist) has directed its lawmakers in the Constituent Assembly (CA) to visit the disaster hit areas.
In its parliamentary party meeting held at Singha Durbar office on Wednesday, the UCPN (M) instructed its lawmakers to visit various areas affected by landslides and floods, and collaborate with the locals for relief works.
According to Maoist lawmaker Agni Sapkota, the meeting decided to draw the government's attention to make the relief distribution process prompt and effective.
The activities of government, parliament and Constitutional Assembly were also scrutinised in the meeting.
The party's role in speeding up the constitution making process was also discussed.
On Monday, the UCPN (M) demanded all the CA activities be suspended so that the lawmakers can visit the disaster-hit areas to provide assistance for relief.
Following the demand, Speaker Subash Nembang adjourned the House meeting for one week.
