A discussion was held between the political parties representing the Constituent Assembly (CA), Friday in Singha Durbar in an attempt to reach consensus on disputative issues of the new constitution.
Earlier, top leaders of the three major political parties had held discussions on contentious issues of constitution-making on Friday morning.
The three major political parties after concluding their meeting, sat down for discussions with other parties of the CA.
As per the schedule of CA, if consensus is not reached by September 6, the disputative issues will be resolved by voting-process of the CA.
However, the UCPN (Maoist) and the Madhesh based parties are against process-based consensus on issues like forms of governance, number of provinces, restructuring of state, among others.
The three parties had decided Thursday to form an eight-member team which would work to form an agreement on CPN-Maoist's demand for an all-party conference/assembly.
The conference would be organised on recommendation of the eight-member working-team.
