Police have arrested six persons involved in the recent robbery at Kist Bank in the capital. They have been accused of robbing Rs 8 million from the Thamel branch of the bank.
The Metropolitan Police Crime Division, Hanumandhoka made public the six accused by organising a press conference in the capital on Tuesday.
The arrestees include Rohit Lal Shrestha, 32, of Kathmandu, Laxman Adhikari, 28, of Gorkha, Rameshwor Paudel, 26, of Nuwakot , Prakash Nepali, 24, of Chitwan, Krishna Sejwal, 44, of Pyuthan and Amrit Lama, 33, of Kavre. Shrestha, Lama, Sijwal and Poudel were arrested from Kathmandu while Adhikari and Nepali were arrested from Bhairahawa, according to the police.
“Around Rs 6.5 million has been seized of the Rs 8 million they looted from the bank. The robbers had shared the amount after the robbery.” The six are currently put into custody at Hanumandhoka for further investigation.
