The Higher Secondary Education Board (HSEB) has decided to use barcodes in its mark slips in examinations.

Making reforms in the ten plus two examination system, the HSEB has introduced barcode in answer sheet and optical mark reader, said Acting Examination Controller Durga Aryal.

He claimed the new system would bring about reform in examination system resolving loopholes seen in the past. Aryal further said students would be provided with registration certificate immediately after scanning their photo and signature used in the registration form of grade 11.

It would help check fake students appearing in the examination and preparation of fraud educational certificate, he added.

The HSEB has come up with a plan to use Virtual Private Network system to develop transcript, migration and provisional certificates, which is expected to end the malpractice of making fake certificates.
