Death toll in Okhaldhunga bus mishap rises to 10

The death toll in Friday's bus accident in Okhaldhunga has risen to 10 after seven more people breathed their last while receiving treatment for serious injuries on Saturday.

Three persons had died on the spot and more than 40 others were injured when the bus (BA 2 Kha 7063) carrying pilgrims to Halesi of Khotang from Kathmandu skidded off the road and plunged some 300 meters down at  Thakle-8, Suklatar of Okhaldhunga Friday afternoon.

Two of the those who died on the spot were identified as Bishnu Bahadur Shrestha, 63, and Sabitri Maya Shrestha, both from Ratamate, Sindhul.

Similarly, reports coming in say those who died undergoing treatment at various hospitals in Sindhhuli, Lalitpur and Katari are Ramesh Giri of Sindhuli, Sabitri Giri, Maniraj Giri, Anisha Giri, Prabin Rai, Poornima Shrestha and Arjun Adhikari.
