Nepal Police have used a polygraph machine for carrying out investigations into the incident of looting of bank .
This is the first time in the Far-west Region that a lie detector machine is used.
The police is using the machine in course of investigations into the looting incident in which Rs 23.1 million of Nabil Bank Limited, Kanchanpur branch being transported in a jeep for depositing in Nepal Rastra Bank Kailali branch was looted by unidentified masked people in a forest at Malakheti on December 9, 2013.
Mohan Raj Joshi, Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Kailali, said that the machine was brought here from the Police Headquarters in Kathmandu two days back.
It is said that the polygraph machine has been used in carrying out investigation into only 10-12 cases.
