Jaundice patient up in capital

Number of jaundice patients has jumped up at different hospitals in the capital in recent days.

According to Dr Gita Shakya, Director at the National Public Health Laboratory, Teku, most of the patients are found suffering from hepatitis 'E' and hepatitis 'A'.

Over, five to six patients suffering from jaundice visit the hospital daily for treatment, Dr Shakya of the Shukraraj Tropical Hospital, Teku, said.

The disease is spreading in the capital and the patients are thronging the Bir, Patan and TU Teaching hospitals, said Dr Babu Ram Marasini, a doctor at the Epidemiology and Diseases Control Division.
