Temporary teachers who are on relay hunger strike since the past 231 days have complained of indifference on part of the government towards their demands.
At a press conference in the capital today, they demanded job security, removal of provision of contract-based teachers from the Education Regulations and enforcement of the amended Education Act-2063 BS.
Temporary teachers have been on a relay strike at Ratnapark Shantibatika since December 18, 2013 seeking permanency through a due process. The Temporary Teachers Agitation Central Committee had called for the strike.
The government has made various agreements with the agitating teachers to calm the situation but aren't actually looking to implement them, complained a teacher Surya Prasad Tiwari.
