Prime Minister Sushil Koirala directed the Public Procurement Monitoring Office (PPMO) officials to maintain transparency in the Public Procurement Process (PPP) in all governmental bodies and offices.

The PPP should be free of collusion, irregularity, embezzlement and anomaly, said PM Koirala.

PM Koirala gave these directives to the high officials at the PPMO who had gone to the PM residence at Baluwatar to inform him about the activities of the office on the occasion of its 8th establishment day, on Tuesday.

The Prime Minister further directed them to complete the developmental works on slated time while maintaining transparency.

He opined that good governance could be maintained by providing government services to the people in a prompt and efficient manner.

On the occasion, acting secretary of the office Tankamani Sharma suggested amending the acts and policies of the PPMO and simplifying the PPP.

Meanwhile, PM Koirala launched the Electronic Government Procurement Portal to be brought into operation by the PPMO from today.
