5 dead, 3 missing in various landslide incidents

Five people died and three are missing in different incidents of landslide in various districts, on Wednesday.

Five people suffered injuries in the landslide incidents.

A landslide buried the house of Dil Bahadur Tamang in Mahankal-6, Sindhupalchowk, killing Dil Bahadur and three others.

Chief District Officer of Sindhupalchowk, Gopal Parajuli said Dil Bahadur Tamang-33, his father Man Bahadur Tamang-70, daughter Alisha-12 and five-year old son Prashant were killed in the incident.

Dil Bahadur's wife Moti is seriously injured and is under treatment, according to CDO Parajuli.

Similarly, three people are missing after a landslide hit Pakuwa, Kushma-9 of Parbat district, burying the house of Hiralal Chapagain.

A person was rescued from the landslide debris.

According to DSP Mahendra Kumar Shrestha of the District Police Office, 70-year old Putali Chapagain was rescued while her daughter Jamuna Paudel and grand-daughters Jenica and Sumina are still missing.

Meanwhile in Putalibazar Muncipality-9 of Aamdada, Syangja, the house of Bhadra Bahadur Shah was buried by a landslide, killing his 11-year old niece Urmila Shah.

Sub-Inspector Tek Bahadur Saaru of Syangja District Police Office, said, Bhadra Bahadur Shah-52, Labdesh Shah-29, Amrit Shah-19 and Srijan Shah-14 were injured in the incident.

Security forces were mobilised for rescue operations in all three districts.
