The Asian Development Bank (ADB) will provide financial assistance to control landslide at Lampata of Babiyachour-5 in Myagdi district.
A mission-team under the leadership of ADB representative Laxmi Adhikari reached the district to monitor the site and agreed to provide financial assistance through Decentralised Rural Infrastructure and Livelihood Improvement Project (DRLIP).
Local Development Officer, Bishnu Prasad Sharma said that the ADB agreed to provide all the expenses required for transport services operation by controlling the landslide in a long-lasting manner.
Sharma added that the estimated cost for the same is Rs 27.5 million.
The site lies along the Beni-Darbang road section.
Works would be carried out to control the landslide as per the report and suggestion prepared by a team headed by geologist Nareshman Shakya after a broad study of the site.
Locals of western area in the district were hit hard due to road obstruction at Lampata following continuous landslide for the past four years.
The earlier infrastructure constructed to control the landslide with an investment of Rs 8.3 million in the Fiscal Year 2012/13 BS through DRLIP was destroyed by river eroding and landslide.
