FIFA World Cup trophy brought to Nepal

FIFA World Cup trophy was brought to Nepal on Saturday as part of the FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour 2014.

The trophy was brought to Kathmandu from Bhutanese capital Thimpu.

NT/ Bikram RaiPresident Dr Ram Baran Yadav held the trophy and exhibited it to hundreds of Nepali football fans at a ceremony organised at Dashrath Rangashala in  the capital.

As only the World Cup winning team´s captain  or the head of state are authorised to touch or hold the trophy during the world tour, Minister of Sports, Nepal Sports Council and All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) officials including the Nepal National Football Team players had their photos taken alongside the trophy .

The ceremony was jointly organised by Coca-Cola Company and All Nepal Football Association (ANFA).

This is the first time that the Nepal has been included in the FIFA World Cup trophy tour.  After Nepal, the trophy will be taken to India, said the organisers. Nepalnews.com
