MFC, RCT win in A Division

Machhindra Football Club (MFC) has defeated Saraswoti Club 2-0 in a match held Saturday under the Martyrs Memorial 'A' Division League Football Tournament underway in the capital.

In the first mach held today at the local Dashrath Stadium, both teams could not score in the first half of the match. But, later MFC took the lead with a suicide goal from Saraswoti's Babi in the 57th minute of the match. Babi happened to make a suicide goal as he failed to clear a ball from MFC's Karna Limbu.

MFC's player Prayash Gurung scored another goal in the 76th minute on a cross-pass from Sushil KC and led the team to the victory.

In the previous match, MFC played a goalless draw with the Sankata. With today's win, MFC added 4 points to the team whereas Saraswoti is limited to only one point. In the previous match, it played a 1-1 draw with the Ranipokhari Corner Team (RCT).

In the second match, RCT defeated Nepal Police 2-0. RCT's Suman Lama and Bhim Darlami became the heroes of the match.

Lama scored in the 26th minute of the first half and took the team to the lead. Later, Darlami secured one more goal in the extra time (90 plus 4) ensuring the victory of the team. With this win, RCT has added 4 points to its tally.

Three Star Club will face Jawalakhel Club at 1:00 pm whereas Boys Union and Armed Police Force (APF) will meet at 3:00 pm on Sunday.
