Nepal beats New Zealand’s Canterbury for second time in practice match

Nepal defeated New Zealand’s Canterbury Selection Team by six runs in its second practice match held at Christ Church in New Zealand on Monday.

This was the second practice match played prior to the ICC World Cup Qualifiers scheduled to be held in New Zealand from 13 January to 1 February, 2014.

Canterbury was restricted to 204 runs with one wicket remaining against the target of 211 runs set by Nepal. Basanta Regmi claimed three wickets for Nepal.

In the first inning, Gyanendra Malla scored a valuable 47 runs and Basanta Regmi 43 runs while Paras Khadka and Sharad Vesawkar hit 26 runs each.

J. Case scored 46 runs, the highest for the New Zealand side, while W Lonsdale and Ross took two wickets for Canterbury.

Nepal had defeated the same team by eight wickets in the first practice match.
