Region No. 5 Nepalgunj thrashed Region No. 9 Kanchanpur by nine wickets to secure three victories in a row in the ongoing Senior Women's National Cricket Tournament held at TU Cricket Ground on Monday.
Kanchanpur was restricted just too meager 17 runs in 11.5 overs of the allotted 40 overs as Nary Thapa claimed five wickets and Trishna Singh took four wickets for Nepalgunj.
In return, Nepalgunj met the target in 5.3 overs scoring 19 runs with the loss of a wicket. Mamta Thapa scored 10 runs.
In another match of the day played at Pulchowk Engineering Ground, Region No. 3 Kathmandu defeated Region No. 2 Birgunj by five wickets to extend the victory to two of the played three matches.
Kathmandu chased the target in 30.4 overs scoring 154 runs with the loss of five wickets to beat Birgunj. Sarada Wagle scored 49 runs, Sangeeta Gauchan 38 runs and Rabina Bhandari 22 runs for winning side.
Birgunj was all out for 150 runs in 35.3 overs as Shanti Khatiwada, Sangeeta Gauchan and Kamala Rai claimed three wickets each.
Sita Shrestha was the highest scorer for Birgunj as she scored 38 runs.
