Nepalgunj enters semis of Women's Nat’l Cricket

Region No. 5 (Nepalgunj) has qualified for the semi-finals from Group B of the ongoing Senior Women's National Cricket Tournament on Tuesday.

Nepalgunj defeated Region No. 4 (Bhairahawa) by 23 runs in its last group stage match held at TU Cricket Ground. Bhairahawa was restricted just to 94 runs in 34.5 overs against the target of 118 runs.

Nary Thapa scored the highest 49 runs as Trishna Singh claimed four wickets for the winning team. Indu Burma took three wickets for Bhairahawa.

In another match of the day, APF Club defeated Region No. 8, Pokhara by huge 287 runs to secure third win in a row from Group A of the tournament.

APF has set the target of 340 runs with the loss of four wickets in the allotted 40 overs in the first inning held at Pulchowk Engineering Ground.

Neera Rajopadhyay made a century scoring 116 runs off 75 balls while Sarita Magar made half-century scoring 81 runs. Similarly, Sita Rana Magar scored 46 runs, Binu Budha Magar 45 runs and Jyoti Pandey 17 runs.

While chasing the target, Pokhara was bowled out just for 52 runs in 36.1 overs. Binu Budha Magar claimed three wickets while Sonu Khadka and Karuna Bhandari took two wickets each.
