Three Star wins, Machhindra draws with Army

Three Star Cub (TSC) defeated Friends Club 2-0 to secure its second position in the ongoing Martyrs Memorial Red Bull A Division Football League held at Dasharath Stadium on Wednesday.

Though the match ended in a goal-less draw in the first half, Three Star’s Castory Mumbara opened a score in the 70th minutes and Santosh Shahukhala doubled the tally in the 84th minutes in the second half to end the match on its side.

With the win, TSC accumulated total 20 points while Friends is at the eighth spot with 12 points after playing their 10 matches each. Manang Marshyandi Club (MMC) is at the top of the league’s chart with 22 points lead after playing nine matches so far.

Machhindra Football Club (MFC) and Nepal Army Club (NAC) played 1-1 draw to share a point each in another match of the day.

Though Army has led the match in the early 11th minute through a score from Tek Budhathoki, Uttam Gurung levelled the score for Machhindra in the 40th minute. Both the teams failed to score any in the remaining time.

After sharing a point each with Army, MFC improved its position to fourth totaling 16 points. Army is at the seventh spot with 12 points in hand. Both the teams have played 11 matches.
