Nepal made a flying start in its ACC Women's Premier-2014 campaign defeating Iran by a massive 221 runs in the inaugural match of the tournament held at Chiang Mai in Thailand on Tuesday.
While chasing the target of 285 runs, Iran was restricted just to 63 runs in 30.5 overs as Sita Magar alone grabbed four wickets while Rubina Chettri took two wickets.
Iran's Roya Kaheni scored 17 runs, the highest for her team.
In the first inning, Nepal had scored a total of 284 runs with the loss of six wickets in allotted 40 overs. Sarita Magar hit the inning's highest 72 runs while Sita Magar contributed 61 runs and Neera Rajopadhaya scored 47 runs. Sita and Sarita had scored 107 runs in their match-winning partnership to help Nepal post a challenging total.
Now, Nepal will take on host Thailand on 13 February, Bhutan on 14 February, China on 16 February and Hong Kong on 17 February.
