Nepal has defeated Bhutan by five wickets to register second victory in the ongoing ACC Women´s Premier 2014 held at Chiang Mai in Thailand on Friday.
Nepal chased a target of 104 runs set by Bhutan in 26.2 overs, scoring 105 runs with the loss of five wickets. Rubina Chettri scored 31 runs and Mamta Thapa contributed 20 runs for Nepal.
As Nepal chose to field first after winning the toss, Bhutan scored 103 runs with the loss of seven overs in allotted 40 overs. Bhutan’s Yeshey Wangmo scored highest 23 runs, Sonam Choden scored 21 runs and Dechen Wangmo 13 runs.
Sonu Khadka and Rubina Chhetry claimed two wickets each while Sita Magar and Rekha Rawal took a wicket each for Nepal.
Now, Nepal will take on China on Sunday and Hong Kong on Monday.
Nepal had defeated Iran in the inaugural match of the tournament but lost to host Thailand in its second match.
