Prime College dominates in TT Championship

Alina Maharjan of Prime College clinched the title of Sixth Galaxy National Open Table Tennis Championship in collage girls’ single category held at the capital on Monday.

In the final match, Maharjan defeated Kajol Rauniyar of Oxbridge International College 11-9, 11-8 and 11-8 straight sets to win the title.
In the tournament organised by Kathmandu District Table Tennis Association, Prime Collage stood first in both boys; and girls’ events. Prime beat Asian College of Management 3-1 in the boys´ section and Oxbridge 3-0 in the finals in girls’ section to win the title.

Maharjan and Sunita Lama of Prime also claimed gold in the college doubles events. Prime’s duo secured 11-9, 11-8 and 11-7 victory against Oxbridge´s Kajol and Nikita Koju.

In the boys’ section, Pradeep Roka and Binesh Khaniya of Prime defeated Asian´s Mani Kumar Lama and Kusum Dhami 11-5, 11-7, 10-12 and 11-6 to win gold.

Angel Lord’s Aman Limbu and Rahul Gurung won gold in boys’ doubles in school category. They defeated New Summit’s Anil Sapkota and Sushant Raut of New Summit 11-7, 12-10 and 11-8.

Jyoti Gurung and Tashi Futi Sherpa of Sri Diwa defeated Binita Shrestha and Shruti Adhikari of Annapurna 11-8, 6-11, 11-7, 5-11 and 11-7 in the final in girls’ section to clinch the title.
