Machhindra Football Club (MFC) has defeated Sankata Club 1-0 to secure second spot in the Martyr's Memorial Red Bull A Division League held under Super Six at Dasharath Stadium on Thursday.
A single goal from Karna Limbu in the 60th minute proved to be the match winning score for MFC. This was their last match of the league. Macchindra accumulated a total of 34 points after playing 17 matches.
With the win, MFC will get Rs 435 million behind Manang Marshyandi Club (MMC). MMC has already won the league with a match to spare. It has a total of 35 points.
Now, Three Star Club (TSC) and Nepal Police Club (NPC) are on the third position race. Despite TSC having 29 points, it is not safe enough to claim the third spot. Police has 26 points.
