Dharan beats Army in Aaha Rara Gold Cup to create history

Dharan Football Club (DFC) has defeated Nepal Army Club (NAC) 2-1 in the second match of the 12th Aaha Rara Gold Cup Football Tournament that began at the Pokhara Stadium on Wednesday.

Segun Akinade scored two goals for Dharan while Raju Tamang netted a consolation for Army.  This is the first time that Dharan secured victory in the history of Aaha Rara Gold Cup.

Now, First Gorkha Rifles Brunei and Saraswoti Youth Club will take on each other in another match of the tournament.

Armed Police Force (APF) had defeat Nepal U-16 by 4-2 in the inaugural match of the Cup on Tuesday. As both the team played 1-1 draw in the regular and additional extra 20 minutes match, the match was forced for penalty-shootout.
