Nepal loses to Yemen in friendly match

Nepal has lost to Yemen 2-0 in a friendly match held at Al Arabi Stadium in Doha on Tuesday evening.

Though Nepal played a goalless draw in the first half of the match, it could not maintain the same pace in the second half. Kamil Tareq scored an opening goal in the 58th minute and Mohamed Barwish doubled the tally in the 66th minute for Yemen.

As per the ANFA calendar, now Nepal will play friendly match against Philippines in 11 April. All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) is also set to organise similar matches with other nations over a year.

Nepali National Football Team had left the country to play a friendly match against Yemen on Sunday. All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) bade farewell to the team amidst a function at Dasharath Stadium on Sunday morning.

The players include goalkeepers Kiran Chemjong, Ritesh Thapa and Bishal Shrestha, defenders Sagar Thapa, Sandip Rai, Rogit Chand, Sabindra Shrestha, Bijaya Dhimal and Rabin Shrestha are also in the squad.

Similarly, Bhola Silwal, Raju Tamang, Bikram Lama, Jagajeet Shrestha and Sujal Shrestha are mid-fielders while forwards include Santosh Sahukhala, Jumanu Rai, Anil Gurung, Deepak Rai, Ashim Jung Karki and Karna Limbu.

Rajukaji Shakya is also with the team as head coach and Upendra Man Singh is an assistant coach.
