Nepal’s Red Bull Martyrs’ A Division League champion Manang Marshyandi Club (MMC) is set to take on Cambodia’s League champion Svay Rieng in its inaugural Group C Stage match of the AFC President’s Cup 2014 on May 3, 2014 in Mongolia.
Similarly, MMC will take on host Mongolia’s League champion Erchim on May 5. However, the inaugural match of the Group C between Erchim and Svay Rieng is scheduled to kick off from May 1. All the matches will be held at MFF Football Centre, Ulan Bator.
Altogether 11 teams from the emerging countries of Asia are going to participate in the tournament which will be played on a round-robin basis.
According to the draw for the group stage held at the AFC House in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in March, Sri Lanka Air Force, Pakistan’s KRL, Bangladesh’s Sheikh Russel and Bhutan’s Ugyen Academy are drawn in Group A.
Similarly, Philippines’s Ceres, Turkmenistan’s HTTU Asgabat, China’s Tatung and North Korea’s Rimyongsu are in Group B.
The winners and runner-ups of each group will qualify for the next round of AFC President’s Cup.
